Cruising down the road on a warm summer night with the windows rolled down,
Thinking about the past, Dreaming about the future, Listening to the radio on full blast and singing every word at the top of your lungs, Feeling the wind rush past your hand dangling out the window. Ah. Summer. How I love you. Ft Duchesne? Roosevelt? Uintah County? Duchesne County? I had never heard of any of these places until I met one of my best friends Erica Simm
I was missing her terribly. So I decided it was about time I go visit her in good ole Ft Duchesne! And what a trip!! We saw mountains, trees, "moose", lakes, indians, yummy food, cute boys, drive in movies, and friends. It was just what I needed. And because I love pictures SO much, here is the story of my trip in pictures. But seriously, what a beautiful place. I now see why they call this land, "God's Country" *Activities not pictured*
What a wonderful time I had! If you ever have the chance to head over to North Eastern Utah... DO IT! P.S. Sending a big shout out to Erica for letting me crash at her place, being my personal tour guide, and putting up with me. Her blog is over here. You should read it, because she is funny. My name is Marina Woodward.
I am 22 years old. Freshly graduated from college. A mormon. I used to write on a blog over here, but life got busy and time was scarce. I also needed a change. So now that I am graduated and moving onto the next adventure of my life, this new blog was born. However, I decided to keep the name of my blog the same and here's why. Back in 2002 the song "Soak Up the Sun" by Sheryl Crow came out. The first time I heard it playing on the radio I fell in love and couldn't stop listening. It soon became my song. As I grew, the song remained my favorite. I felt it described my happy, positive attitude perfectly. It was also a reminder to always look up, lighten up, and enjoy every second of this life. That has become my motto. This world has so much to offer, we need to make the most of every moment and always look for the positive. So that is why I am writing. I am writing to share how happy we can be in this world. I recognize that life is rough sometimes. We need to experience heartache and sadness in order to appreciate the good. But we should never dwell on the bad. I want to enjoy every moment I want to help others look up and see the good. I want to soak up the sun. 2 Nephi 2:27 Adam fell that men might be, men are that they might have joy. |
